Find out your site's ranking in search engines!

Now you've been working real hard to make your blog worthy of visits. You've been applying all the different search engine optimization techniques you could lay your hands on. Now its time to find out how your blog, web site or a page ranks with the major search engines. Here's how you can find out your blog's ranking;

  • Visit this page
  • Enter the keywords that you think should make your site/page appear in a search engines search results page in the first text box.
  • Enter the URL of your site in the next text box.
  • Next comes the text box that says " Your Google™ SOAP API Key*:". You only need an API Key if you include Google™ in the search engines list ). (What's a SOAP API Key?). The fact is that if you don't know what a SOAP API Key is its of no use trying to figure out what it is or where to get it? (Google is not giving out anymore of them). The problem is without this key you can't use this online tool to find out your rankings with Google. (Don't loose heart as yet, MSN, Yahoo! and Ask are still there to query).
  • If you do have that key, you can click the "Remember my key" so that on your next visit you don't have to manually enter it again. It'll be remembered by the cookie placed on your system.
  • Next select the search engines you want to query (exclude Google if you don't have the key) by clicking the check box next to each search engines name.
  • Next select the number of top sites you want your search to be limited to. You can select from 40 to 1000 as the number of top search results to query for your site.
  • Last thing left for you to do is to press the "What's my rank?" button.
  • Google Rankings will go to work; querying the selected search engines for the listing of your site (if search engine is queried for the key word you entered in the first text box). It will display results as they become available.
  • You can modify your search for another keyword and repeat the process (until either you give up or you find yourself listed with the search engine(s).
If you don't find your blog listed in the search engines, don't loose hope. keep adding that great content (content is the king) and tweak your site a bit. maybe next time you'll find yourself enlisted and hopefully some traffic will follow.

Free Keyword density analysis!

Want to find out what keywords represent your blog? Well here is a free online tool for doing just that.

Keyword density is important because search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme, and to determine which terms the site is relevant to. The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions. Keyword density needs to be balanced correctly (too low and you will not get the optimum benefit, too high and your page might get flagged for “keyword spamming”).

The keyword density tool is useful for helping webmasters and SEOs achieve their optimum keyword density for a set of key terms. Use the keyword density analyzer to determine the optimum keyword density for your web site's keywords.

Just follow the step by step guide below to perform a keyword density analysis on your blog site;

  • Visit this page
  • Enter the complete URL of the page you want to analyze (don't forget to include "http://" at the beginning of the URL)
  • In the next text box you'll see some words to ignore while analyzing the page for keywords. These are words that are not important for keyword analysis. If you feel you need to add some more words, type them in the text box (separate each word with a space).
  • Enter the minimum and maximum character length to be ignored in the next 2 text boxes. This will further filter out irrelevant keywords.
  • Hit "Analyze" button (or reset button if you are willing to do all the typing again)
  • The Keyword Density Analyzer will read the page you specify and give a report what words are used and how many times they are used. Report will be presented in a three column table with these heads (arranged in descending order); word, repeats and density.
  • You'll also find the total number of unique words and total number of words found at the specified URL.
That's all folks. Perform a keyword density analysis. See for yourself how does your page appear to search engine bots. Optimize to get some better ranking.
Have a nice day!
